Blooming Desires began as a floral boutique creating modern bespoke designs based in South Norwood, a thriving, up and coming London High Street (SE25).   The  aim was always to bring floral creations, made from the freshest flowers, sourced from British wholesalers and Holland flower markets direct to this South East London hub.

The transition from going from Pitch to Bricks back to Pitch, has been a journey which may not suit everyone.  Some might see it as taking backward steps.  However, for me and the business, going back to Pitch Life has been fantastic.   The grass is not always greener in bricks and mortar!!
After 18 months in a High Street premises, after a lot of thought and soul searching, the  High Street shop was closed.  This was an extremely hard decision for me to make.  However, being a sole, self employed business owner,  I had to be realistic about my growing concerns, regarding the overheads, location and the reduction in footfall.  At the time of closing down the shop in April 2018, I had no idea where the business was heading, or if it would even survive.  However, I can say with a huge smile, that I need not have worried and that business decision, has been, the best  I could have ever made.  Through contacts on the Clocktower Market Committee (SE25) and previous correspondences with Croydon Council, I was able to gain a new base in South Norwood.   Station Road has been my home for over 3 years now come wind, rain or sunshine.   An amazing vibrant location, my colourful and beautiful arranged Stall is situated in the hub of a growing network of businesses.  Visit  "the corner spot" in person or shop online.  I offer an ever expanding range of stock including house and garden plants, floral arrangements and even flower subscriptions .

Blooming Desires blossomed from a dream.

Floristry has always excited me, but being a hard working single mother there was not much time left in the day to study or take up any training. But, I had a desire for success and a dream to have my own business, so at 42 years young, I went back to the classroom to fulfil my dream. Fast forward, two and half years and Blooming Desires was born. Taking on a high street shop was and is a huge risk and responsibility, which comes with many a dilemma.  There have been may a hiccup up along the way, and I'm sure more hiccups will come, but being faithful in the routine will bring growth and success.

I got my first floristry experience with the Floral Angels, who are based in Covent Garden Flower Market. Floral Angels recycle flowers from events and unsold flowers from supermarkets etc. It was a trade off as they didn’t actually need any more volunteers, but I could drive a transit van.  So I drove for them and they let me experience flowers.

I have since acquired my Level  1  experience at CALAT.  I also acquired my City in Guilds Level 2 and my NCFE Level 3 Certificate all in Floristry.  What’s to come possibly a Level 4 qualification in the future, but for now proudly, I can say my floral dream is flourishing.

South Norwood is a very special place to work and I am very much involved with the growth of the area.  I am part of the energy behind the South Norwood Business Neighbourhood and actively work with the Council, Police and other organisations in the borough to benefit both the businesses and the community as a whole.
