About Blooming Desires
The Face Behind The Brand
Floristry has always interested me, but being a single parent, there was never time left in any day to study or take up any form of training. However, with years and time, the children grew and with the Florist desire still in me, I set about making my dream become my reality.
My first floristry experience in my early 40's (its never too late) , was with the Floral Angels, a flower recycle and reuse organisation, based in Covent Garden Flower Market. My time there initially started as a trade off of skills, they didn’t actually need any more flower volunteers, but they did need a delivery driver. So, I became the delivery driver and they let me experience flower arranging.
That experience initiated my next step where I re-entered a classroom, an adult learning facility, where I acquired my Level 1 in Basic Floristry experience. By then I was hooked, and went on to study my City and Guilds Level 2 in Floristry and as if that wasn't enough a further step in education led me to my next qualification, NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Floristry, Creating and Design.
Within this period, also gaining on the job Florist experience, Blooming Desires was born. Taking on the high street, market stalls, permanent pitches and pop ups did not come without risks and responsibility. There have been many highs and lows, ups and downs, but faith, belief and tenacity has definitely brought growth.
